Who Can You Target With Facebook Ads?

Anyone and everyone.

It’s important to know that almost half of the advertising targeting you can do on Facebook does not come from Facebook data. One of the biggest misconceptions around using Facebook ads for recruiting is not everyone updates their Facebook profiles with their job titles or their income. Fortunately, that doesn’t matter as much as people think it does.

So to clear up that misconception, Facebook partnered with the largest data companies in the world (a.k.a “big data”) to give companies access to the most comprehensive audience targeting in the history of advertising.

So what does this mean for your staffing company? A lot.

Facebook puts that collective power of “big data” into your hands, if you know what to do with it.

Here’s a quick example of how and what we do with that data:

Let’s say you have an “Associate Staffing Coordinator” position you need to fill with highly qualified applicants. Targeting by the job title of “Staffing Coordinator” and “Staffing Coordinator/Recruiter” allows you to reach an audience of 3,400 people. This is a very highly-targeted audience and the most effective way for getting your job postings in front of the right people. The idea is to target qualified audiences with multiple ads to see what gets the most response, then zero in on what is working and what isn’t.

Here’s who we would target for the first audience:

Audience #1 – 3,400 people

Location – Living In: United States

Age: 18 – 65+

Job title: Staffing Coordinator or Staffing Coordinator/Recruiter

Where the ad shows up: news feed on desktop computers, news feed on mobile devices, third-party apps(like popular game apps) and websites on mobile devices or right column on desktop computers

Here is a sample ad we would run to Audience #1:

Hiredillo.001

Audience #2: 5,700 people

Location – Living In: United States

Age: 18 – 65+

Interests: staffing coordinator

Where the ad shows up: news feed on desktop computers, news feed on mobile devices, third-party apps (like popular game apps) and websites on mobile devices or right column on desktop computers

Here is a sample ad we would run to Audience #2:

Repeating this process with as many audiences and ads as possible is the key to getting your ads in front of the right people.

For a little less then $1 a click, we were able to get our client highly-targeted leads from a similar audience size in less than two weeks.
