SEO For Staffing Companies: It Doesn’t Have To Be Complex

SEO-For-Staffing-Introduction

Time for the good news. SEO has become less complex over the years. There are still a great number of very technical details to focus on but If you do the basics and ignore the high-level technical stuff, you’re already ahead of the curve.

The Basics

Content

Content can be video, text, images, and more but when it comes to SEO for staffing companies, text and images are the ones you really want to focus on.

Unique content is a must, especially for jobs. Think of the jobs on your site as actual content. Each job description should have original content.  Next, focus on generating user-friendly, unique content for each page and blog post.

Site Architecture

Now we’re getting slightly more technical with site architecture. Site architecture is the way the site itself is built, how the pages link to each other within the site, load time, and meta data. If your site is having difficulties in these areas you probably need a new site.

The pages of your site should link to each other. The number of internal links you have pointing to a particular page signals to search engines how important the page is to your site. If you have a page on your site that isn’t linked to from anywhere tells search engines that the page is not important. Every link should feel natural, as if it has a purpose though so don’t go crazy.

Is your website taking too long to load? If your site was built using a modern CMS you will likely have access to tools designed to improve load time. If not, time to upgrade.

The meta data you include on your pages signals to search engines what you’re pages are all about. There are many tools available to make managing meta data convenient and easy.

Backlinks

Backlinks are links that point to your website from other websites. The quantity and quality of these links matter. There are many strategies for acquiring links some of them can be very dangerous for your website. The most effective and safest methods include social media marketing and traditional marketing tactics such as event sponsorship, press releases and newsletter services. Also providing great content or valuable resources on your website can attract high value links from around the web.

Social Signals

Search engines care a lot about the user experience. They know if you have a strong social presence, their users are more likely to already know, like and trust you. Having a strong social presence on sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus can have a huge impact on your recruiting companies search engine optimization.

User Behavior

When someone uses a search engine, the site attaches a cookie to that user that follows them around the web. This cookie allows the search engine to monitor the users activity. If the user visits your site and leaves right away, that signals the search engine that the site wasn’t what the user was looking for. These add up and can cause harm to your staffing website’s SEO rankings.

If user visits your site and clicks through to many different pages and spends a lot of time on the site this behavior signals to search engines that the user had a good experience and your site is more likely to rank higher in the search results because of this. While you can’t always control user behavior, you can tackle content and site architecture for a better user experience.

Now that you’re armed with the knowledge, you probably have some work to do. You’re in luck though because we can help get your SEO dialed in. Contact Staffing Robot for help with your SEO!
