Most of the time I’m not the kind of person to say, “I told you so.” But most times I am. And this time I have to say it.
We talk a lot about Google on our blog. This is because whether or not we like it, how well we get along with Google often determines our website traffic, which we all know leads to dollar signs in our pockets.
Remember that blog post back in December about how responsive website design is not a fad and it’s great for SEO?
On Monday, Silicon Valley Business Journal reported that Google is preparing an algorithm change: website owners must migrate to mobile.
Well, well, well. Looks like responsive design (the mobile site) isn’t just a trend or a scheme for us to get you to spend more money.
Here’s what Google says:
Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.
All of this I Told You So is because of the big, bad Google. Bottom line: By April 21 you better have a mobile site or Google will severely hinder your ability to reach customers. Run, don’t walk to the website store!
Here at Staffing Robot, our main goal is to help you succeed on the web.
That means we’re not telling you that you need a responsive website aka mobile site because WE think they’re great, we’re telling you that you need a mobile site because GOOGLE thinks they’re great.
Whether it’s SEO, design, blogging, branding, social media, or Google — we do our best to keep up with all of the rules so you don’t have to.
