Want to Handle Stress Better at Work? Better Start Moving!


“Are you just sitting there watching the computer screen? What are you doing? You gotta get moving!” Wise words Mr. Simmons.

He knows what a lot of us have hard time remembering: you have to keep moving, even in our industry where most of our day is spent at a desk. According to The New York Times,

“A new study finds that even gentle lunchtime strolls can perceptibly — and immediately — buoy people’s moods and ability to handle stress at work.”

Researchers didn’t directly study productivity but they did say, “there is now quite strong research evidence that feeling more positive and enthusiastic at work is very important to productivity.” Honestly though, do we need a study to tell us to walk more?

Nah. We know it’s important. We just need inspiration sometimes.
