The Content Marketing Institute discovered that health industries seem to be falling around two years behind other industries in producing engaging content.

Eighty percent of respondents in a recent Pew Internet Survey reported they go online for answers to their health questions, which means a majority of people want engaging health related content but based on the Content Marketing Institute’s findings, they may not be getting it.

This info is vital not only for the health industry but other industries providing services to the industry such as staffing or marketing companies. Why? If we want stellar content marketing we should be looking outside of our immediate industries for material.

The good news is that there are companies in the healthcare industry that are providing the engaging content that users crave. Mayo Clinic runs a blog dedicated to sharing inspirational stories and they also have an online magazine called Discovery’s Edge for sharing recent developments in medical science research. Mayo Clinic has gained recognition for their content marketing over the years but can other organizations follow their lead?
