Getting The Edge On EdgeLink With Their New Website And Recruiting Machine

We Staff Tech. That’s what EdgeLink does and they do it well. And now, with their new staffing website, they’ll be doing it even better. But we’re just saying that because they’re our client right? Nope. We’re their client too. EdgeLink has actually helped us build our team by finding us amazing talent.

The highlights….

Home Page
The content on the home page displays content prioritized and designed to best fascilitate the needs of first time visitors. Client and Candidate primary calls to action are most prominent, followed by the ability to learn more about EdgeLink and then additional Calls to Action.

With this site we’re also introducing the ‘hamburger’.

What’s the hamburger? It’s the collapsed menu option. It’s a mobile first option presented to users with massive benefits. Called the ‘hamburger’ because of the 3 stacked horizontal lines. What are the benefits?

  1. With a good design, the user doesn’t need the menu that much. Bad designs with no though toward content are too dependent on the menu. Can’t find what you’re looking for – we’ll it’s just up there in the menu. But if you know what your users want, there’s a good chance you can present it to them without them needing the menu (at least in their first pass).
  2. By keeping the menu structure/function the same for desktop/mobile you’re not writing conditional code. This means fewer things to test and faster page load times. Faster page load times = better SEO. It also means a consistent experience for users.
  3. It just looks better. Standard menus with words spilled across the page only serve to clutter the page with unnecessary words and design elements. They can also serve to confuse (not help) the user by presenting too many options. By only presenting the menu when a user asks for it, it’s a much better design.

 

Mobile Job Board (Jobbee)
EdgeLink could have just used the iFramce code provided by their ATS for their job board. Instead, they opted to use Jobbee for their job board. Why? Jobbee integrates with their backend ATS (MaxHire), pulls their jobs out in real time, properly SEO’s their jobs, matches their websites look/feel, enables their candidates to sign up for job alerts and it’s 100% mobile.

We also added the Apply with LinkedIn button so prospective candidates can easily apply with their LinkedIn page with one click!

Candidate & Job Connection

For each job you can easily connect with and contact the EdgeLink recruiter responsible for the job. On each job you can see the recruiter and on each recruiter page you can see the jobs they’re recruiting for!

Best of Staffing

Most staffing companies these days know the value of the Best of Staffing analysis and awards given by Inavero. If you don’t – get on it. We took the valuable data and awards earned by EdgeLink and made it a bit more visually interesting with animations and simple graphics. Check out the impressive candidate and customer satisfaction EdgeLink has. They didn’t get the diamond award for nothing.
