While many companies still consider Pinterest to be a mood board for ladies who like shoes (and it is!) it’s also a powerful social media tool which is constantly underestimated. Pinterest drives more traffic than Twitter, LinkedIn, and Reddit combined.
And you know who loves Pinterest? EVERYONE. Now, correct me if I’m wrong but most staffing and recruiting companies employ a large number of EVERYONE, right? Am I being crazy here? That’s rhetorical.
So how do you harness that kind of power? Are you PINTERESTED to know more? Read on! (sorry, not sorry.)
- Keep SEO and keywords in mind. Pinterest SEO bleeds into Google SEO, so much so that some pin boards are ranking number 1 in search.
- Make sure your mobile site works with it. Over 50% of the traffic to Pinterest comes from mobile devices.
- ShotPin! It’s a Chrome browser extension that takes a screenshot and creates a pin out of it. It will then link back to that page, making pinning easier than ever before. The internet is a miracle!
- Build a following by strategically following companies and candidates with whom you want to network. Re-pin all their things! They will re-pin your things and bingo! BFF’s forever. And then the profits come rollllllinggggg in. Plus friendship is worth more than gold. Or something.
