Will the Apply with LinkedIn Button Change Your Healthcare Staffing Recruiting?

Linkedin-logo-webtreats Buttons, buttons, everyone has a button. First, Facebook allowed you to use their 'Like' button on your website. Then, Twitter and Google joined with their 'Follow' and '+1' buttons respectively. So, of course, it was only a matter of time before LinkedIn would join the fray.

Last week, word got around that LinkedIn will soon be announcing their Apply with LinkedIn button. This button allows people to apply for your jobs with their LinkedIn profiles. Companies will soon be able to place a button on their websites and online job postings so that interested candidates can easily apply by submitting their LinkedIn profile. This keeps these candidates from having to fill out a separate application.

From our perspective this has the potential to be huge, especially for recruiting in the healthcare staffing industry. The easier it is for candidates to apply the better it will be for your company. We expect to see widespread adoption of this feature since, in a single action, LinkedIn is potentially increasing the volume of candidates you'll receive and providing you a means to aggregate all their data into an easy to use database.

The most brilliant thing about this, however, is that once again LinkedIn is making it even easier for recruiters to find passive job seekers. With this new feature, it will be just as easy for someone to 'Like' your company as it will be for them to apply for a job with you. This could once again dramatically alter the way recruiting is done.

LinkedIn has yet to release the technical specifications of their new button but when they do, it will be interesting to see how far this feature goes. We're hoping it allows companies to integrate the button into their existing job boards. We'll see and let you know what we find out.

So what do you think? Do you see your company using this new feature?
